Twins come in for Number Nine

Position number nine is a difficult decision, so a pair of twins was chosen: The Flintstones and the Jetsons. These two cartoon series share a common studio, and are mirror images of each other. The Flintstones arrived first, and is a situation comedy about family life in an imaginary past with clever animal and human powered primitive machines and conveniences. Many people believe that the cartoon was based on The Honeymooners, because it does have several similarities in characters.

The Jetsons is a family comedy about life in an imaginary future with clever takes on imagined advanced technology and lifestyles. George has similar problems with his boss, Mr. Spacely as Fred Flintstone does. The voice of Mr. Spacely was done by the famous Looney Tunes voice artist, Mel Blanc. Go As the mirror image of and subsequent to the Flintstones, the Jetsons isn't quite as original.

Both series have very good theme music and scores.

Hanna-Barbera produced both cartoons, and both had a decent animation quality, unlike several other fairly successful cartoons from that studio about the same time, such as Huckleberry Hound, Quickdraw McGraw, and Yogi Bear. Spoiler alert: None of these cartoons appear in the top ten.

The Wrong Question - Position #10

The staff here at Tree Meets Sea wanted to respond to the millions of letters wanting to know what AW's Daddy's opinion of the Top Ten Movies of All Time. The staff did not have to consult Ashley's Daddy with that question, because its well known that he thinks there are far too many good and reliable lists of the best movies. No, that's just the wrong question

No, the real question is, "What are the best ALL TIME CARTOONS?"! Now, that is a difficult question. After much research and consultation with AW's Daddy, the following can be unveiled for certain.

At place number 10, Mickey Mouse. A generally sweet character who has undergone few artistic alterations since the 1920s, Mickey arrives at number 10 due in large part because of his historical position as the first successful cartoon where sound and image were merged at the beginning of "talkies".

Another favorable attribute of Mickey was that he introduced the world to the Mickey Mouse Club and Annette, the girl who made millions of prepubescent boys say "I don't know what it is about her but I like it..." Unfortunately, like all good things, the Club also introduced us to decidedly unwholesome Anti-Annettes such as Britney Spears, Justin No-Talent Timberlake and the annoying
Christina Aguilera. Surely we cannot blame that on Mickey, nor on Walt Disney who died nearly 30 year prior to those abominations.

But as famous, wholesome and clever as Mickey was, he wasn't the best: Position #10 on the countdown.

Doesn't want to be here

Taken by force from all their familiar surroundings.

The great thing, is that it's "just a phase."
